NEW: TOTALLY FAKE "AUTHENTICATOR" - Matthew A Moser in OH. You MUST READ THIS!!!

As most of you know I'm very, very sick. Not in the- "I feel like crap now, but I'll be better soon.". But in the- "I've felt as bad an anyone reading this has ever felt and it just keeps gets worse!". I've been legally HOMEBOUND/99% BED-RIDDEN since 2009, and there is absolutely nothing any doctor can do to help me. In fact the way the USELESS FDA Rules stand and keep getting worse for intractable pain patients like myself, they are making life FAR HARDER ON ME (and tens of thousands others) THAN IT NEEDS TO BE!
Yet I still have a fire lit in me to stop as much hobby fraud as I can BECAUSE NO ONE ELSE is doing it right or effectively because they are afraid to lose what little money they are still making off of this hobby. I HAVE NEVER NEEDED TO MAKE MONEY OFF OF THIS HOBBY (because I had professional skills in a few different areas having nothing to do with Sports Cards & Memorabilia), SO THERE NEVER WAS A CONFLICT OF INTEREST WITH ME AS THERE IS WITH NEARLY EVERYONE ELSE! Which I must say sickens me.

I busted a NEW 100% FRAUDULENT Authenticator who started this year (2015) encasing autographs in PSA/DNA like cases.

Here one:

The HGAcard.com (look at their website) is completely worthless, useless, and a complete waste of your time because the website is missing EVERYTHING a true authenticator would want to put on t5heir website if they were legitimate. Like their TRUE hobby experience, his site mentions NONE!
If you've already put your trust in this moron like the eBay seller who tried to sell this card above on eBay for over $40.00- you threw your money out the window and now implicated yourself in a fraudulent venture.

HGA (Historical Grading and Authentication) is nothing but a scam. If anyone spend an hour (it took me three hours because of my physical disabilities) looking into this seller, they would have found the exact same things I did:

1) The "authenticator" who told me by e-mail that he "has been an autograph expert since the early 1990's" is only 25-years old right now which he also admitted in another e-mail a few days later. SO HE'S BEEN AN AUTOGRAPH EXPERT SINCE BEFORE HE WAS BORN!!!

2) The "authenticator" lives with his parents (Chris & Candice both in their mid-50's) in Whitehouse, OH. I have the exact address, but he only puts a PO Box on his website (BECAUSE HE IS A CROOK!).

3) I contacted one of his big eBay sellers and asked a couple of questions. His seller told me Matt Moser (Matthew A Moser to be exact) is the person he had his cards authenticated by, and that he has been using Matt Moser for about two years. Before 2015, he ran Grade My Cards according to his seller (which ironically Moser denied). He also gave me Matt Moser's phone number: the one Moser gave the seller which is a cell phone. Why didn't he give his seller his home address land line (which I have as well) WHERE HE LIVES WITH HIS PARENTS? Because again, he is a CROOK!

As far as I'm concerned: CASE CLOSED with Matthew A Moser & HGAcard.com (or Grade My Card). They are all worthless CRIMINAL enterprises just to make money.

I've said this before and I'll say it again; DO RESEARCH ON ANYONE YOU ARE THINKING OF USING. Right now I wouldn't recommend ONE authenticator or Forensic Document Examiner for that matter because there is no licensing required for either, so they people think they can just start a business because there is ABSOLUTELY NO 100% TRUSTWORTHY WATCHDOG IN THIS INDUSTRY.

The only autograph you can trust are established CARD COMPANY On Card Certified Autograph Inserts. If you buy ANYTHING else, you are on your own & there is a 75% chance that you will buy a FORGERY if it is not a CARD COMPANY On Card Certified Autograph Insert which have a 99.99% AUTHENTICITY RATE since 1990!

James McCay aka Cardcop
Forensic Document Examiner since 1999 (only for free).
Hobby fraud investigator since 1992 (only for free).

I have also donated close to 3-MILLION sports cards &
autographs to hospitalized/underprivileged children every
year since 1989.

  1. Nice research. Heck even pack pulled autographs aren't 100% authentic. Who knows how many wives, girlfriends, moms, dads, brothers, sisters, friends, etc. have helped athletes sign there stuff. Of course I trust Topps and the other major card companies, but the fact is... you never know for sure unless you get the item signed in person.

    1. Thank you Fuji, I do the best I can.
As much as I'm certain card companies would love to use autograph forgeries in products. The fact is that they are TOO AFRAID to these days, for several reasons.
There are far too many Autograph Experts with more experience than any "Authenticators" looking closely at card company autographs- especially of star players. These experts are VERY VOCAL (whose posts all available on Google- typing "card company autograph forgery" would return the best results: IF ANY), yet there has never been an instance that I'm aware of where any of these experts identified a card company released forgery since 1997/2011 (the Donnie Shell forgeries by Upper Deck that I discovered).
Players have been sued by card companies for NOT returning Certified Autographs that they signed contracts to do, plus have warned players that they would be sued if they have anyone (besides themselves) sign for them.
The Player Associations give mandatory seminars to newly Drafted/signed players which included warnings if they haveanyone sign their autographs (other than themselves) for card company autographs.
SO SINCE THE LATE 1990's, THERE HAS BEEN ALMOST ZERO CHANCE OF FORGED CERTIFIED AUTOGRAPH INSERTS ENTERING THE HOBBY! This is not an educated guess, it's a fact. I have researched this sector of the hobby since 2004 more than any other. Other than the EXTREMELY RARE instance of the wrong player STICKER (one of the many reasons I HATE sticker autos) Autograph winding up on a card, or a BLANK card company autograph card slipping through the cracks and then was signed once it entered the hobby are the ONLY examples of Certified Autograph Insert forgeries!
So collecting On Card Certified Autographs is BY FAR the safest and most Authentic way to collect autographs, period.

I would like to add the LEAF created 2011 Metal Autographs that FADED even if stored in a totally dark/dry place since 2011. Now these are practically WORTHLESS due to the ignorance of Brian Gray. Then he neglects putting any form of Authenticity Statement on his first released Leaf Originals Wrestling Autographs product (the ONE thing that separates Card Company Autographs from other types of autographs more than any other, as far as Authenticity). This makes them worth far less because once Leaf no longer exists, all those autograph cards will be worthless. Right now they are worth FAR LESS than they would be worth if they had an Authenticity Statement for the autographs. If Brian Gray wasn't such a Narcissist, he could have fixed these problems (as I notified him of BOTH issues), but he chose NOT TO; hurting everyone who bought those cards in good faith.

  2. I got a Aaron rodgers 2016 score gold franchise "auto" with the panini holographic sticker from a local dealer.Never thought much of it until I
Tried to sell it on craigslist when a guy emailed me threatening to "turn me in" he then informed me that rodgers didnt sign any score products. I then looked on the back of the card and saw there was no auto guarantee on the back which I never bothered to check. I then removed the card from Craigslist...posted a pic of it on panini of Americas facebook along with info on how I Aquired the card but havent heard anything from panini or anyone for that matter. That was 5 days ago. What should I do? I went by the dealers shop yesterday to find she had been "robbed" over the holidays and rushed me out of her store.

    1. Sorry, but it seems that you've been TAKEN by an unscrupulous dealer. Please send me pictures of the card (front & back) and I'll be able to tell you for certain everything about this card. cardcop04@gmail.com

After you hear back from me, I suggest you CALL (by phone) Panini Quality Assurance and tell them what happened (you bought a fraudulent card from a licensed business who refused to help you). Tell them you want to send scans of the card (front & back) to them, but you need an e-mail address to directly get to the person you are speaking to. Then once it's confirmed by Panini (tell them to please reply by e-mail so you start accumulating PROOF from Panini) that the card is fraudulent.
Next you can ask them to please send you a letter stating that the autograph card is FAKE, so you can follow-up with your local police and hope they help you (it's up to the police whether they want to help, or not). In NYC, they DEFINITELY WOULD NOT HELP!

I hope you saved your receipt that you bought this card in that particular card shop! It is almost absolutely necessary that you save receipts for purchases like this. Brick & mortar stores are supposed to give you a receipt no matter what.

BAD DEALERS like this, especially with "brick & mortar" shops need to take FULL RESPONSIBILITY for everything they sell. But as I've stated before: card dealers are STARVING to make money, so MANY have stooped to levels of lies and deceit they never would have dreamed of 15-years ago.

I look forward to hearing from you so I perhaps I can help you farther.

  3. You are a freakin whack job.

"99% bedridden". Yet your Amazon product reviews show you buying and reviewing brush cutters for your lawn.

Another says you work in the medical field.

You ignore how you are a thief and most in the card industry know it
